Recommendation Letter

Wednesday, March 2nd, 2023

Gerardo Torres

Speakers English Center

56515 79ª Ave Edmonton, AB T5R 3J2

Hello Gerardo, I am Max Koprulu Hernandez, and I am writing on behalf of my good friend of Emilia Valdivia Moreno. I am a university student and a teacher at Speakers English Center. I met Emilia last year when I began university. She reached out to me upon learning that I was a new foreign student, and made me feel very welcome at the university, as well as helping me understand information when my language skills were not what they are now. She is a kind person who is perfect for the position of on-call substitute teacher. This letter of recommendation will give you a perspective on to her strengths and abilities.

Emilia’s strengths are many, and she has a lot of experience in many different fields. She has a friendly and welcoming demeanor, one that allows students to relax and feel safe in her classroom environment. She is excellently organized, as she consistently hands in her assignments on time and is always prepared for any exam. She has all the qualities I would look for in an excellent teacher who can adapt to anything.

As for abilities, Emilia excels in grammar and syntax, expressing grammatical concepts with ease. She reads fast and can provide feedback on written assignments quite quickly. A well as reading, she is fluent in English with a very clear and understandable accent. Her previous experience with design lends to an excellent teaching experience with her, as her creative and aesthetic skills have been used and honed for many years. Her abilities are perfectly suited for a classroom where she needs to work with what she has to create something great.

Emilia is an excellent teacher who can adapt to anything. Her grammar skills and her speaking skills make her stand out among others. I believe she’s a good fit for Speakers, and can provide on-call educational support and excellent creative teaching ideas. I can vouch for her whenever needed, and do not hesitate to reach out to me. Thank you for taking the time to consider her.

Regards,

Re: Day Off

Hello Gerardo,

Thank you for the opportunity you provided me when we worked together on the Level 5 Class planning. I believe it’ll be a success with the students and this new level will provide a lot of new opportunities for learning. I would like to make some modifications to my schedule on the date of the first Level 5 Class. The first class is on Wednesday, March 15th, 2023, which is my brothers’ 16th birthday as I had mentioned in a previous conversation, and I would like to ask you to change the date of the class, in order to spend the day with my brother. If that is not possible, then I would like to only be available for classes from 6:30 pm – 9:00 pm on Wednesday, March 15th, 2023.

Please send me a reply to discuss which one of these options is better for you. We can talk about it on Thursday, March 8th, at 3:50 pm or Friday, March 9th, at 5:10 pm if need be. If you find it pertinent, feel free to send me a text message on WhatsApp whenever possible.

I have included an attachment of my schedule for the next week to let you know my availability. I will find a substitute on my own if Brian isn’t available and can contact either a seasoned teacher or one of my classmates looking for experience.

I am looking forward to the initiation of Level 5 Classes, and I know this course will be beneficial for the company and the students alike. I’m honored to be a part of this project. Please let me know if there’s anything I can do in regard to my scheduling.

Thank you and best regards,

Self Reflection

Unit 2 Reflection: In Unit 2 I got the chance to practice a lot of professional skills that are very useful in the professional spaces I have been working in. I had never written a professional e-mail, and that was a very informative process. I also learned to use Linkedin, which was a completely new experience, and I got to understand how critical it is to the modern work environment. This was definetly a learning experience and I think I still have a lot to work on.
