Sonnet
Yet Another Sonnet About the Moon
I need you like I need to breathe the air
so sweet like summer rain in mid-july
You are the blue moon of my life, so rare,
I'd have to be a fool to pass you by
but like the moon, you wonder how you seem.
You hide behind the trees, I catch a gleam
Your bashful beauty, lover, beloved.
And so to loving hands I have succumbed.
But like the air on cold and frigid nights,
You nipped at me and then started to bite
My fears had creeped in from your sweet delights.
A fortnight I spent steeped in loneliness.
Forsaken by the moon, the nights so dim.
I'm burned by the cold you have held within.
